Three Factors to Consider When Searching for Apartments to Rent

Three-factors-to-consider-when-searching-for-apartments-to-rent

The fact that the search for a vacant apartment can prove to be challenging is no longer a subject that is even debatable. Granted, an apartment finder san antonio may claim that it is something that is not even worth their attention. Perhaps such people have been able to devise certain methods which they can use to find their preferred apartments without any hustles. However, the general truth about searching for an apartment that is vacant is that it is not an easy process. You may need to go through thick and thin before you can come across an apartment that is worth renting. To streamline the entire search process, it is better to take into account a number of factors. Here are some of the factors that you can take into account when you are searching for apartments san Antonio to rent.

To start with, you need to consider the location of the apartment that you are about to move into. Most people do not take this into account, but it is a matter that can affect the search process to a very significant extent. If the distance between your current area of residence and the apartment that you want to rent is very short, you will find it very easy to inspect the apartment. You can even go there during the course of the evening shortly after knocking off from work. Suppose the apartment you want to rent is located in an area that is very far from your current area of residence, you will not find it very easy to inspect the apartment before moving into it. In such a case, you will need to make prior arrangements such as weekend arrangements. This is the only way you can get enough time to check the apartment before moving in.

If you are interested in finding an apartment that is vacant at the time of your search, you may be disappointed. This is because some apartments may not really be vacant at the time you will begin looking for an apartment to rent. But, there are certain apartments whose vacancy may be pronounced a few months or weeks before they become vacant. You can take advantage of such apartments if you are not in an urgent need to shift. Such apartments are meant for people that are not in an urgent need to move into another apartment. But, you will need to look out for alternatives if you are in dire need of a vacant apartment to move into.

If you have heard about some vacant Texas apartments, you need to bear in mind the cost of transport to and from the location of the apartments. You may have issues finding transport to enable you to reach that apartment within a short period of time. This is very important because you may end up learning about an apartment that may be taken by the time you reach its location. In this way, you will have wasted your money and time.

Jared Kushner Granted Permanent Security Clearance

(WASHINGTON) — White House adviser Jared Kushner — who’s President Donald Trump’s son-in-law — has been granted a permanent security clearance.

That’s according to a person with knowledge of the decision but wasn’t authorized to speak publicly about the matter.

Kushner lost his access to the country’s deepest secrets when White House chief of staff John Kelly downgraded Kushner’s clearance due to questions that arose during Kushner’s background briefing.

Kushner has been operating under a temporary security clearance for several months.

Kushner is married to Ivanka Trump, the president’s oldest daughter.

Israel Faces International Criticism for Gaza Deaths

Israel faced a torrent of international criticism for its response to protests in Gaza this week, as the Netanyahu government defended the country’s right to secure its borders.

Palestinians in Gaza buried their dead Tuesday after clashes with Israel’s military at the border fence a day earlier left some 60 people dead and injured thousands more. The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday that Hamas operatives were among those killed.

The events provoked an uproar among foreign governments, leading to statements and diplomatic moves that have renewed international scrutiny of Israel’s fraught relationship with the Palestinians.

Turkey temporarily expelled Israel’s ambassador and recalled its own envoy. Belgium and Ireland summoned the Israeli ambassadors there to express extreme displeasure with Israel’s response in Gaza. South Africa recalled its ambassador.

U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May called Israel’s use of live fire “deeply troubling,” and urged “an independent and transparent investigation” into it and what role was played by Hamas, the political and militant group that controls Gaza.

Thousands of protesters were injured at the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel ahead of the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.

The United Nations Security Council convened an emergency meeting on Tuesday, and Kuwait said it planned to circulate a resolution on Wednesday condemning the violence and calling for international protection of Palestinians.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials have fiercely defended their right to protect Israel and have blamed the violence on Hamas. The U.S. and Israel consider Hamas to be a terrorist organization.

Palestinians attempted to breach the fence on the Gaza border, Israel said. Some protesters burned tires or improvised other incendiary devices.

The prime minister’s office said Mr. Netanyahu had spoken by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday. It said he thanked Ms. Merkel for supporting Israel’s right to defend its sovereignty and told Mr. Macron that Israel would preserve its security interests.

Officials in Israel acknowledged that the country’s ambassadors have been summoned by foreign governments. A diplomat in Jerusalem said Israel was waiting to see the tenor of the messages delivered before responding to them.

The area near the Gaza-Israel fence was quieter Tuesday, though Gaza health officials reported that two people had been killed. There were more than 400 injuries reported, including at least 17 by gunfire.

Related

Israel’s military said about 400 protesters gathered on the border fence between Gaza and Israel in seven locations. There were also violent demonstrations in 18 places throughout the West Bank, it said.

Former Israeli officials and analysts said they expected Israel would press ahead with its defense of its approach.

“The most critical issue for Israel has been and still is the U.S. position and given the kind of intimacy and harmony between the current two administrations, obviously there is not going to be any kind of criticism from the American side,” said Eran Etzion, a former deputy head of the national security council in the Israeli prime minister’s office.

The U.S. has sided with Israel in assigning blame to the political power in Gaza. “The responsibility for these tragic deaths rests squarely with Hamas,” Raj Shah, a White House spokesman, said Monday. “Israel has the right to defend itself.”

The bloodshed cast a pall over the ceremony celebrating the new U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, whose opening on Monday Mr. Netanyahu and Trump administration officials called a step toward peace. The U.S. recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December. The Palestinians also claim Jerusalem for a future capital and had warned the U.S. against the move, saying it would derail any chance for peace.

On Tuesday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas recalled its ambassador to Washington, Husam Zomlot, the authority’s Wafa news agency reported.

The U.K. and France have been particularly critical, with both directly expressing opposition to the embassy opening and the U.K. criticizing Israel’s use of deadly shooting across the border area with Gaza.

Hamas has used a host of anniversaries to rally support for mass protests in the past month and a half. The Monday protests drew 40,000 Gaza residents at 12 points along the border fence.

Protest organizers had aimed to encourage tens of thousands to march Tuesday for what Palestinians call “Nakba Day” or “Day of the Catastrophe,” the anniversary of the day after the date of Israel’s founding. But there were no calls on loudspeakers for protests, unlike on Monday, when mosques in Gaza urged people to actively take part in the demonstrations and buses moved people from inside Gaza city to the border.

Saudi Arabia condemned what it said was Israel’s targeting of unarmed Palestinian civilians and urged the international community to stop the violence and protect the Palestinian people.

Mr. Netanyahu, meanwhile, lashed out at President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, one of several countries criticizing Israel’s approach to the protests, saying he was aligned with Hamas.

“Erdogan is among Hamas’s biggest supporters and there is no doubt that he well understands terrorism and slaughter. I suggest that he not preach morality to us,” Mr. Netanyahu said Tuesday.

Mr. Erdogan, firing back on Twitter, said Mr. Netanyahu has the blood of Palestinians on his hands and couldn’t cover up crimes by attacking Turkey.

Israel and Turkey agreed to restore full diplomatic ties in 2016. Relations collapsed in 2010 after nine Turkish citizens and a Turkish-American were fatally wounded during an Israeli commando raid on a Turkish ship carrying activists trying to break a blockade and enter Gaza by sea.

Since March 30, Hamas has helped organize weekly protests and threatened to break through the border fence. Israel has responded with live fire, killing more than 100 people. The death toll on Monday was the largest on a single day since the Israeli army fought a conflict with Hamas in 2014.

Mohamed Al Ashi, 22 years old, was sharing a room with two others in Shifa hospital in Gaza. Mr. Ashi was hit in the leg, and one of his roommates was shot Monday, while the other was shot the Friday before.

Mr. Ashi said he was protesting near the fence with some friends when the soldiers starting shooting at them. “They should not have shot us. We did not even cross the fence,” he said.

On Tuesday, the IDF said it had transferred two trucks with medical supplies to Gaza.

Pom Klementieff Believes Marvel Is Developing A Black Widow Flick AND A Female Team-Up Movie

Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe does have its share of kick-ass female characters, the studio sure did take its sweet time before allowing them to become headliners. Of course, that’ll change next year once Captain Marvel arrives in theaters, but it seems as though even more exciting stuff is on the horizon.

As you may have heard, Tessa Thompson, whose character of Valkyrie we first met in Thor: Ragnarok, pitched an idea last year regarding an all-female team-up movie. Naturally, the story gained a lot of traction, as it’d sure be something different to see in a post-Avengers: Infinity War world. And, to be honest, I’d be down for watching such a picture.

Still, an idea – even given by a current star in the MCU – is no guarantee for a green light, but some recent words that Pom Klementieff had to offer to Purebreak while promoting Infinity War lend some hope:

“We spoke with Kevin Feige, and he thought it was a good idea. I think they are developing it right now.”

Notice that the Mantis actress used the word “think,” but she’s privy to more behind the scenes talks than the rest of us. If indeed the wheels are turning, this opens the door for a big screen adaptation for a group like, say, A-Force, which was essentially an all-female Avengers-style group that gained quite some popularity in the comic book world in recent years. And while a fair amount of True Believers likely got attached to the lineup they saw on the printed page, the studio isn’t bound by law to reflect that. Instead, we could see them adapting the concept as to include characters already known to moviegoers.

Additionally, she did say “[Marvel] are also developing a Black Widow movie by the way,” and that she hopes “to participate” in the project. Right now, it’s assumed one such film could arrive in 2020, so fingers remain crossed.

You can next catch Ms. Klementieff as Mantis in Avengers: Infinity War when that arrives in theaters on April 27.

Kentucky Lawmakers Override Governor Veto on Tax, Budget Bills

5ad0b1657e2a3.image

Kentucky lawmakers on Friday overrode Gov. Matt Bevin’s vetoes of tax and budget bills that boost spending on public education with the help of additional tax revenue, in a victory for teachers.

As they have several times this year, hundreds of Kentucky teachers descended on Frankfort, the capital, on Friday to urge lawmakers to override the governor’s vetoes. Some demonstrated inside the state Capitol, while others chanted “Fund our schools” outside.

The demonstration was the latest by teachers around the U.S. demanding increased education funding and higher pay. Teachers in Oklahoma just ended a nine-day strike that yielded such results, and educators in Arizona are now weighing a walkout.

Supporters of the overrides said the tax bill would make the state more competitive, drawing new companies and creating more jobs. “We then create more taxpayers, with more money going into the coffers to pay for things like education,” said Republican state Sen. Damon Thayer on the Senate floor Friday.

In Kentucky earlier this month, the state’s Republican-controlled House and Senate passed a tax measure that lowered income taxes for most people and businesses, added sales taxes for certain services and raised the cigarette tax, generating an additional $480 million in revenue. The chambers also passed a two-year budget bill that relied on that extra money to increase classroom funding and help shore up the state’s pension systems.

On Monday, Mr. Bevin, a Republican, vetoed both measures, saying lawmakers overestimated how much revenue the tax bill would generate and passed a budget with spending the state can’t afford. If lawmakers had failed to override the vetoes, the governor would have had to call a special legislative session later this year to craft a new budget measure.

On Friday afternoon, the House overrode Mr. Bevin’s veto of the tax bill in a 57-40 vote, then overrode his veto of the budget bill in a 66-28 vote. The Senate followed by overriding the tax measure 20-18 and the budget measure 26-12.

Many Democrats voted to support the vetoes—not for the reasons Mr. Bevin offered, but because they considered the tax measure overly generous to businesses and punitive for lower-income workers. “It’s on the backs of people who can least afford to pay,” said Democratic state Sen. Robin Webb during debate Friday.

Tesla Bonds Reach New Low, Stock Falls Further After Downgrade, Accident

Heavy selling of Tesla Inc. TSLA -7.67% shares and bonds persisted Wednesday, posing a new challenge to the electric-car maker that has relied on the faith of investors to meet pressing cash needs.

The company’s shares fell $21.40, or 7.7%, to $257.78, extending a weekslong decline that deepened Tuesday amid broad weakness among technology stocks, increased scrutiny of the company’s semiautonomous driving system, and a credit-rating downgrade from Moody’s Investors Service.

Tesla’s 5.3% unsecured bonds that mature in 2025, issued last August when the company’s stock price was near its height, touched a low of 86 cents on the dollar—translating to a 7.8% yield—before ticking up to 88 cents, according to MarketAxess.

Related

The concerns about Tesla’s value come as investors take a harsher look at some other companies that helped drive stock indexes to records earlier this year, including tech giants Facebook Inc. and Google parent Alphabet Inc. GOOGL -0.17%

The situation is especially noteworthy, because Tesla’s near-term financial viability depends on its access to the capital markets. The company, investing heavily to bring out its mass-market Model 3 sedan, burned through on average about $1 billion in cash each quarter last year, and analysts expect a similar pace this year until production kicks into a higher gear and generates new revenue.

Tesla’s $1.8 billion unsecured bond issuance last August was part of a wide-ranging search for cash that has also involved repeated equity raises and sales of convertible bonds and asset-backed securities. Unlike most corporate-bond offerings, which are marketed based on credit metrics such as free cash flow and debt-to-earnings ratios, Tesla’s bonds originally met strong demand from investors in part because of the company’s eye-popping stock valuation, which suggested it could always raise cash from other sources.

Tesla’s latest run as a stock-market darling has only recently met turbulence. Its shares soared 46% last year, pushing its market value above that of Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co. —profitable auto makers with more than 100 years of experience and far more sales.

Investors endorsed Chief Executive Elon Musk’s vision that Tesla will be at the vanguard of a world with all-electric cars that drive themselves.

That vision, however, is now being tested. On Tuesday, Waymo, the self-driving unit of Alphabet, said it would buy as many as 20,000 all-electric SUVs from Jaguar Land Rover to deploy as part of a robot taxi fleet. The deal is a direct threat to a Tesla self-driving technology unit that already has been racked with turnover.

Also on Tuesday, the National Transportation Safety Board opened a second investigation into a Tesla crash, this one a fatal incident last week near Mountain View, Calif. The agency said it is unsure if Tesla’s semiautonomous system was in operation during the crash. Tesla, while touting the record of its Autopilot system, said it hadn’t been able to access the vehicle’s computer logs to understand what happened.

The Waymo announcement and NTSB investigation both help “reinforce our view that [Tesla] is behind the curve in autonomous driving,” undercutting the bullish case for its stock, Brian Johnson, a longtime automotive-industry analyst for Barclays, wrote in a note to investors on Tuesday.

Adding to Tesla’s woes, Moody’s on Tuesday lowered its ratings on the company by one notch to B3. It cited Tesla’s “large negative free-cash flow,” looming debt maturities and “significant shortfall” in the production of its Model 3 car.

Investors should get better insight into Tesla’s operations next week, when the company is expected to release first-quarter production numbers. Mr. Musk has targeted making 2,500 Model 3s a week by the end of this month on the way toward making 5,000 a week by the end of June, a goal he has twice postponed.

Tesla will continue burning cash until it maintains the 5,000-a-week pace for an entire quarter, UBS analyst Colin Langan has calculated.

Mr. Musk has long defied skeptics with his ability to create enthusiasm for an electric-car brand. “Tesla is absurdly overvalued if based on the past, but that’s irrelevant,” he wrote on Twitter last April when the auto maker overtook Ford in market value. “A stock price represents risk-adjusted future cash flows.”

Many investors remain optimistic about Tesla’s prospects. Despite recent declines, Tesla’s 5.3% bonds still trade comfortably above levels that would suggest investors are concerned about an imminent liquidity crisis. Its shares traded recently at roughly 3.6 times its sales from the last four quarters, compared with a price-to-sales ratio of 0.3 for Ford, according to FactSet.

This week’s selloff “doesn’t make us question the long-term thesis of the company,” said Tasha Keeney, an analyst at Ark Investment Management, a New York-based investment firm focused on disruptive technologies that has been adding Tesla shares to funds in recent days.

Ark’s projection is that falling lithium ion battery costs will make electric vehicles cheaper than gasoline-powered cars by the early 2020s—enough, Ms. Keeney said, to cause Tesla’s stock to double over the next five years.

Texas explosions work of serial bomber

AUSTIN, TX (RNN) – Police in Austin, TX, are responding to an incendiary device that left one person injured Tuesday night.

Initial reports from the Associated Press indicated another bomb had exploded in the city. Police later tweeted that was not the case.

#UPDATE: There was no package explosion in the 9800 block of Brodie Ln. Items inside package was not a bomb, rather an incendiary device. At this time, we have no reason to believe this incident is related to previous package bombs. #Breaking #packagebombmurders

— Austin Police Dept (@Austin_Police) March 21, 2018

The Austin-Travis County EMS described the victim as a man in his 30s but did not know the extent of his injuries. They do not, however, anticipate his injuries will be life-threatening.

Earlier, FedEx confirmed in a statement that a package detonated at a San Antonio-area FedEx ground facility early Tuesday morning.

The company also confirmed that the person responsible for sending it also shipped a second package, which was secured and turned over to law enforcement.

The FBI said Tuesday evening that the suspicious package, which was sent to a FedEx shipping center near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, contained an “explosive device,” the AP reported.

“We have provided law enforcement responsible for this investigation extensive evidence related to these packages and the individual that shipped them collected from our advanced technology security systems,” FedEx said in its statement.

One worker was injured after the package – which was destined for Austin – exploded at the facility near San Antonio, on 9935 Doerr Lane, in Schertz, TX, after midnight, police said.

The employee was evaluated and released, according to Michael Carpenter, the mayor of Schertz.

Chief Michael Hansen of the Schertz Police Department said the explosion was called in about 12:25 a.m. Tuesday.

The package was on the automated conveyor and the injured worker was near the package.

No one in the Schertz area was the target, Hansen said.

Police officials have asked the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious packages.

Emergency crews also responded to a call regarding the second package FedEx confirmed Tuesday afternoon. The potentially deadly package was shipped to a FedEx facility near the Austin airport, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Police dispatched a hazardous materials team to the FedEx ground delivery facility, which is located in the 4100 block of McKinney Falls Parkway in southeast Austin.

“We are working closely with law enforcement in their investigation,” and aren’t releasing any more specific information about the package, said Jim McCluskey, manager of FedEx communications.

The FBI couldn’t confirm reports that the exploded package in Schertz contained metal shrapnel and nails. The FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local authorities are investigating the blast.

An FBI spokesperson said that it’s “more than likely” the explosion is linked to a string of bombings in Austin, TX, which is an hour away from Schertz. A series of four bombings there have killed two and injured four.http://www.pixelcreatif.com/texas-explosions-work-of-serial-bomber/” class=”more-link

“We are clearly dealing with a serial bomber,” Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said on Monday.

Authorities originally believed the attacks there could be racially motivated, but the fourth bomb appeared random, rather than targeted, the AP reported.

The latest Austin bomb, on Sunday, used a trip wire and injured two. Those victims are expected to fully recover.

Police in Sunset Valley, which is southwest of downtown Austin, said on Tuesday that the FBI is looking into a “confirmed link” between the Austin packages and a mail delivery office in Sunset Valley.

Local, state and federal officials are investigating the bombing, with rewards for information rising into six figures.
