My experience, it is important to be able to choose in life – such as short term. After choosing a profession, then you should bring this to a professional level – set personal goals – only one existing target line can be crossed successfully.

It so difficult?

It is my opinion in the initial period, the lack of experience, we know not what lies before one, respect, before making a mistake or simply the pressure from outside. Additionally added their own impatience or strict expectations. I was always able to estimate quite well what I can do and what not. Difficult it was for me for me an ability to decide a passion, even if the actual direction always clear.

After an extended period with decisions for temporary roles, as web developers, designers, concept, and so my decision is now:

No decision

I am of my skills and my understanding of Webkram now a very broad and have plenty of additional professional experience. I have ideas that can implement this plan, and present. I am able to deduce relationships, for example, the successful implementation of complex Web projects for larger companies are needed.

A website by a programmer will work, but usually look like designed by a programmer. Websites of online marketers look like blatant display brochures – Sale, sale, sale. A website designed by a designer, without any technical background, looks great, but is usually full of things that are difficult and expensive or so are not feasible – Does not work properly? Regardless, the main thing, the graphics are cool and animated favorite in Flash. Any of the websites by search engines probably be found for what are already semantic or SEO-optimized code. SEOs like to build this text deserts, which will load faster when I saw the visual boredom “with the shortcut” command + w to close again. … Of online marketing, reservation lines, conversion, cost planning, etc. not to mention.

We definitely need specialists. Can things in detail much better than the all-rounder, but there are also always needed people she and her ability to understand that guide these specialists who communicate with them in order for other companies on an equal footing, cooperate with the specialists with the Supply to what they need to be able to work ideally, people who mediate between the various disciplines of tasks, look, evaluate and think can.

In order to take an equally anticipated – it was great! TYPO Berlin is Europe's largest design conference and I am this year for the second time was as a speaker there – for me a very great honor. To TYPO Berlin meet every year, designers, typographers and creative minds from around the world to three days to exchange with others to gather information or simply be inspired by the colorful worlds of design issues, design and typography.' / p>

My life has been through the Typo in recent years very positive influence, not only in design but also my personal development. Jürgen Siebert from font blog came to my lecture on the stage and called me a child of the Typo. If you can say something from a conference, then it is really relevant in my view one event that made a difference.

The theme this year – SHIFT

A versatile topic that is not necessarily easy to access. Noticed mine is already in the past year, as Jürgen me the first time the subject told SHIFT.

I thought back and forth, what SHIFT means to me – somehow nothing and everything. I wanted to shift to visitors only on a project making it accessible. I had talked with those in advance who were predestined – Friends of the shifts. But I was soon clear that I do not even with their support such a project can lift a sideline. So I had to invent something new …

I just made these people in my immediate vicinity to the main part of my talk, which I would like to implement the project itself, precisely because they are the ones I have in the past months and years, always enthusiastic and motivated. They are those whose stories I like to tell and recommend them because they are living what they are and thus give people like me a lot of strength, and enchant us the whole way, on their way without asking for anything in return. They all share something from my perspective – enthusiasm and motivation.

Who are these enthusiastic people? What are their stories and what have you for a meaning to me? I'll tell you in the near future from a personal point of view … here, on my virtual playground.

I've seen a lot in recent months, met people, listened and gained experiences – positive as negative. Typo on the experience I have, what you can do yourself, if you own shares his enthusiasm with others – it is contagious.

I can every day to make a decision that radically changed my life. Life for me – Shift with heart.

Typo Berlin 2011 is very well documented on the Web. At the TYPO Berlin blog, there is almost every lecture a documentary, or is there an updated review.

Selection on Twitter feedback about the presentation:

Simon Becker aka B2302 is a fragrance with the type you like to spend time. He is a graphical launcher before the Lord has for us and answered questions from the kopfquetsche. Simon writes e.g. The Berlin Blog Berlin for VRU and we meet well and happy at shows, at the gym or spontaneously on any dance floor thumping bass.

Please introduce yourself briefly before:

Kinners Moin, my name is Simon Becker, born in Hamburg, grew up in Aachen, since 2005, but with body and soul in Berlin. My alter ego is graphic B2302And that's the name my little studio.

Three slogans about yourself:

Laber bag-Fidget-Paper Messie-

A result of your creativity and tell us something about this:

The Live Issue # 3 jumps back catalog was for me to know with the most exciting project, solely through the issue and the possibility of so many great people. By Willem Stratmann / studio anti-commissioned, I had the chance to make the layout, the team with Oliver Spieker, Manuel Rickert and Flexner, we have propped a 320-page mammoth project … yaay! The thing is still under ISBN:. 978-3937946276 available

By the way, until 26 September in the Bethanien in Berlin: Vol 4.2 BACKJUMPS JUNIOR ISSUE, more information: http://www.backjumps.info

Are you self-employed, freelancers / or engaged in? – Why

?

Freelancer – Since early 2007, after I carried my permanent position at Aimaq. Rapp. Stolle advertising'm damaged, I have no desire to waste my weekends with more projects, among which I must not write my own name, or wants. But I work in a team with other free or permanent employees in order to realize larger projects.

If you listen

The entire design world would be five minutes – what would you tell her

?What is called

Design world? Graphic designers, web designers, typographers, product designers, interior designers, everybody! I would summon them all to win a price agreement that no longer sold below and above its price and the biggest network in the world are trying to stimulate.

What is your personal definition of design?

My study was called “Visual Communication”, I find this much more accurate terminology. Because with what I create, I can best communicate wordlessly, even abroad, if the language of the menu is not controlled, I can still judge by the pictures that may be present, the food or get a first impression based on the general design.

Design facilitates many ways, I should as a logo and pictogram fan paying particular attention to signage, simplified icons work in any language and cultural context. In this sense I see graphic design as a global visual language.

What bothers you to design?

I do not keep promising us for the last hippie – but: the poison is money! Unfortunately, it usually hitch on budget or at the time. The work should be valued, not just financially. It should also be understood that many things are not just a little Mausgeschubse or doodle, but it costs a little brain power and just takes his time. Totally campy Nerdtum bothers me but also, at some point, one should also accept that graphic design is just a job. Unfortunately you can not just put on the break and go to the park, because here you get ideas that you should sometimes be implemented quickly.

What role does design play in your opinion, in this world?

Design can make a lot more things than just chic design can convey information, make the exchange easier, draw attention to himself. Design can simplify and facilitate many processes.

Who or what inspires and motivates you?

Hmm, I think you can get your inspiration from many everyday things, such as faces and the things that are as sees on a train or subway ride. On the other hand, inspire and motivate me, of course, portfolios and work of other designers, I spend much time online and on relevant blogs. Furthermore, it attracts a lot of input from the exchange with other designers, many of which are part of my firm friends. I find also important to maintain the balance, I just have to drive twice a week sport. If you then jogs through the Treptow Park and sometimes' nen fox or other animals see, you lose yourself in thoughts quickly switched off completely and has very different ideas again.

You share your knowledge with other people happy?

.

I've fallen a long time ago – in a city – I've never understood. There are people who take things as they are – that's fine – I do not usually. I have been living for nearly nine years in the city, the many loves and many hate. A teacher said to me before I was washed from the beach in the town: “Berlin is like a wave, either they surf – or washed away one !«.

Tellingly

I would not be able to formulate. I have seen many come and go, like to entertain me with people who have lived here longer, or are only just arrived, about expectations and experiences with the well-hyped big village in Germany. Sara – my pretty blog queen from the rest of reality is always on the go on the Web are traveling so my favorite Mrs. net ghetto even started the project that I am the first post to absorbing – finding Berlin – It helps me 'my' Berlin to find and reflect … Babe, this is probably the coolest project that my eyes have recently seen – thank you for your passion

People who come to Berlin can not find what everyone loves about it.
People who have always lived in Berlin can not find what they used to love about it.

And yes – sometimes I feel the things you see through the camera as I see it – I just can not take pictures as good as you

For some time the project is supported by contributions and still strong and video footage of Marcus – I would like to post the following video you hereby put his heart:

For findingberlin.com i visited the Skalitzer contemporary gallery in Berlin Kreuzberg to speak about graffiti and tagging culture in Berlin.

Filmed with the canon 550d and a 24-70 mm 2.8

All I really wanted to say is – THANK YOUAll photos and videos findingberlin.com

I know what I can offer my clients and what the value of my work. I know it when someone recognizes this value and thus can not draw my conclusions, eg Refuse orders, because you feel that it simply does not fit ...

One senses, however, even if it fits and I'm now working as as a concept developer and online strategist for the Berlin-based agency Mark Surveys – Digital Service Design. But there is still so much more … yeaaaaahhh …

For me it was

Lately on all levels pretty well and am very happy about it. It was all very exciting and perspective in life changed for me almost every 2-3 days. They had taken a decision, something new was added. Shortly after the design diploma – the uncertainty of their future in focus and independence. The prospects for new clients were there, but had not signed anything. I was optimistic – because I had a feeling …

I've been concentrating on the typography and the move to a new office to meet as many people to watch what happens when the target … The result was that I got offered a lot of jobs – it came about interesting conversations Time went by – still nothing concrete … but I was still optimistic and patient – even if the patient is slowly mixed with anxiety. Still – it was worth considerate

!

You would like to call the secret of my personal success: It's random – random, I provoked by perseverance and a lot of movement over a long time have. It is important to remain in motion and not to wait for something to happen – because nothing happens by itself. During my final time I have dealt heavily with me and my professional position. I've spent a lot of time asking me questions. Sometimes came to doubt whether the effort would be worthwhile, I have operated. Now I know that it has more than paid off – because I now have the answers at hand.
